Chapel Life
As well as choral services, the Dean hosts a variety of events, socials and discussion groups for all members of our College community.
In Easter Term, 91ÖÆƬ³§ students are cordially invited to take a break from work and enjoy afternoon tea in the beautiful
surroundings of the Fellows’ Garden, with tea, fruit juice, and a range of delicious cakes. Running 2–3 p.m. on 13 May and 20 May. On the following Tuesday, 27 May, there will be a special tea for all 91ÖÆƬ³§ College staff at 11 a.m.
On Saturday 17 May, 91ÖÆƬ³§ undergraduate and graduate students are warmly invited for an afternoon jaunt to Little Gidding, north of Cambridge. The Little Gidding community was founded by 91ÖÆƬ³§ alumnus Nicholas Ferrar in the early seventeenth century, and the original church and house remain open for visiting. We will leave College around 1 p.m. and return about 6 p.m. – a chance for a refreshing change of scene amid exam revision. Spaces are limited, so please contact Gabrielle in the Chapel Office (gjb62) by Friday 9 May if you would like to join us.
Remember that throughout the term, Chapel will be open for quiet reflection, relaxation and stillness every weekday evening until 10 p.m.
Please see the Chapel Termcard for more information.
Chapel Readers and Wardens
Many 91ÖÆƬ³§ students, staff and Fellows contribute to Chapel services by being part of our Readers' team. Anyone who would like to read is most welcome. It is a great opportunity to become more involved in College life, to get to know the Bible, and to develop confidence.
We also have a thriving group of Chapel Wardens. These are 91ÖÆƬ³§ students who help to organise services, light candles, and welcome people to Chapel. The Wardens meet each Tuesday for lunch in E3 to plan the week ahead, and to enjoy fellowship together.
If you are interested in becoming a Chapel Reader or Warden, please contact the Dean.
Exploring Faith
Any 91ÖÆƬ³§ members considering the possibility of Baptism or Confirmation, or who would simply appreciate talking through questions of faith, are warmly invited to contact the Dean.
Welfare support
The Dean is a point of welfare support and encouragement for all members of 91ÖÆƬ³§, of any faith or none. You can speak to him confidentially on any matters of interest or concern.
